I've been living with an old-school bevel gauge for decades, and I'm not sad that I've just got this new digital one. My home is old, and there seems to be no corner which isn't out of plum, level and square by a couple of degrees. Every cut I make has to be some crazy compound mitre. This gauge does an admirable job of both copying angles (as a bevel gauge does) and giving one an actual reading of the angle, thereby saving one the need to decant the reading with a protractor. Purchased this mainly for trim work when working on homes. If you've ever done stain grade trim and crown you know how important 0.1 degrees can be to the fit and finish of your work. This is accurate (as described by the manufacturer) to 0.3 degrees. It is regularly off by that amount, and in my opinion I would not purchase again for this price. Made in China, and just not accurate enough for regular use, but would likely work fine for anyone that uses caulk and paint to hide inconsistencies. If you don't have a high dollar miter saw its likely your saw is less accurate than this tool, though. So take this review with a grain of salt
